Where have all the leaders gone?
Looking at the state of affairs now days I am reminded of a book I read, from Lee Iacocca former Leader of GM, hell he was GM. But he ran General Motors Corporation and when he was in charge they had there share of crisis but he was able to work through them and keep the company a float, our so called leader could take a lesson from a man like this, don’t get me wrong, I am sure he is not perfect, maybe he stole some candy from the store when he was little I really don’t know, but he showed a level of competence that only a few of our leaders have shown in the past few years. Most of them are in it for them, very few and the number keeps getting smaller each year could care less what you think most of them really think they can do what ever they want and just lie about it, hell look at the current President as he really even deserves that title.
The fact of the matter, “The Hard Truth” if you will is that the biggest part of the problem is you, and by you i mean the masses that sit idle by while these corporate elite’s take more of our liberties and push what ever they want down our throats and you just keep swallowing it and asking for more, do you really think these people are any smarter than you or I, what you do not realize is that most of the people you look up to are just as F’ed up as you, they are just better at lying about it.
Our Country and all that it stands for, is being killed by so called “political correctness” God forbid we should offend anyone, wait I guess I should not have brought God in to it, Jay Leno had a good point we have storms tearing apart our country from every coast, our debt is the largest it has ever been, we are hated around the world, “do you really think now is the time we should be talking about taking God out of everything”. For those of you who have read my stuff before you know I am not a bible thumper by any stretch of the imagine, and i really could care less what you believe in, but believe this, we are all in this together! there is no way out for any of us till we stand up and to take the great sound bite from Lee Iacocca “throw the bums out!” These people work for us, and with that said we are the stupidest employer in the world!
If you are not Outraged!! then either you are not paying attention or you are just plain ignorant! Below is some stuff paraphrased from Lee Iacocca’s Book “Where have all the leaders gone?”
Lee Iacocca says in his book:
‘Am I the only guy in this country who’s fed up with what’s happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder! We’ve got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we’ve got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can’t even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, ‘Stay the course’.
Stay the course? You’ve got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned, ‘Titanic’. I’ll give you a sound bite: ‘Throw all the bums out!’
You might think I’m getting senile, that I’ve gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.
The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we’re fiddling in Iraq, the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving ‘pom-poms’ instead of asking hard questions. That’s not the promise of the ‘America’ my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I’ve had enough. How about you?
I’ll go a step further.. You can’t call yourself a patriot if you’re not outraged. This is a fight I’m ready and willing to have. The Biggest ‘C’ is Crisis ! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C’s of leadership, with crisis being the first.)
Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It’s easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone elses kids off to war when you’ve never seen a battlefield yourself. It’s another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.
On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here’s where we stand.
We’re immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving.
We’re running the biggest deficit in the history of the country.
We’re losing the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.
Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble.
Our borders are like sieves.
The middle class is being squeezed every which way.
These are times that cry out for leadership.
But when you look around, you’ve got to ask: ‘Where have all the leaders gone?’ Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.
Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?
We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.
Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm.
Everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn’t happen again. Now, that’s just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you’re going to do the next time.
Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when ‘The Big Three’ referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it?
Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem without a TELEPROMPTER. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.
I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn’t elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on CNN will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don’t you guys show some spine for a change?
Had Enough? Hey, I’m not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I’m trying to light a fire. I’m speaking out because I have hope – I believe in America . In my lifetime, I’ve had the privilege of living through some of America ’s greatest moments. I’ve also experienced some of our worst crises: The ‘Great Depression,’ ‘World War II,’ the ‘Korean War,’ the ‘Kennedy Assassination,’ the ‘Vietnam War,’ the 1970’s oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11.
If I’ve learned one thing, it’s this: ‘You don’t get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it’s building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That’s the challenge I’m raising in this book. It’s a “Call to Action” for people who, like me, believe in America ‘. It’s not too late, but it’s getting pretty close. So let’s shake off the crap and go to work. Let’s tell’ em all we’ve had ‘enough.’
Make your own contribution by sending this to everyone you know and care about… It’s our country, folks, and it’s our future. Our future is at stake!!
Congressman Fleming
Now here is a guy who has a great Idea let get out there and support him.
House Resolution 615
Over the past few weeks, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration’s proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, I believe this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care. As a physician, I am amazed at the number of bureaucrats in this House who are quick to claim a government-run health care plan is the reform this country needs. In response to this, I have offered a resolution that will offer members of Congress an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is, and urge their colleagues who vote for legislation creating a government-run health care plan to lead by example and enroll themselves in the same public plan.
Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill. If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating.
Together we will work to ensure that any plan that is good enough for American families is good enough for every member of Congress.

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

Now let me preface this with a bit of my own comments. I do not believe any race, creed or religion should be placed above any other, Other than that of our own believes when it comes to religion. No white man deserves any better than other, the same is true for all other races.
Slavery was a terrible thing, it was wrong, we know that, many white and black Americans fought together side by side to see it’s demise.
No one who is alive today was ever a slave owner, no one today was ever forced into slavery in America. I never owned any slaves, no one I know does or did own any slaves.
With that said Mr. President, fellow Americans, and to the world. I owe no one anything, and neither do you, I don’t care what race you are, you are not indebted to anyone because they had a bad life, Name one ethnic group that has not been “discriminated against” Name one! How bout the Italians hell yes they were discriminate against well then should we not hold them above all others and give everything to them? What about the Irish yep they were discriminate against too, let give them anything they want. How bout the Polish yep they were discriminate against too, let give them anything they want. How bout the white people (not sure who they really are because we are all from somewhere else, if you look back) but i’ll be damned yep they were discriminate against too, let give them anything they want. OK how bout Native American Indians yep they were discriminate against too, let give them anything they want.
Are you seeing a pattern develop here, in the end would we not be right back at the start where we all are equal, and should all have the same rights! I think so.
So if you were discriminate against too. Get over it, life is rarely fair, but you set your own destiny so get off your lazy ass and do something with your life.
Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to… This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these: First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American. |
We are a Christian Nation even if Mr.Obama says we are not.

Honesty, Honor, and Accountability
I read an article on GOOOH By K. A. Atcher today; it made a lot of sense, and it got me thinking. It described quite nicely how we got to where we are at today, with all of our nations problem. He had some great points about how all this started at home and we have to change the way we are at home to get on the road to recovery.
So I thought how many of us can really say that we practice being Honorable in our relationships, our business transactions, and in all aspects of our lives and I don’t mean just when people are watching, or when you think people are watching how many of us really can say that we are honorable? I know we would all like to think we are honorable, but what about that time you went to McDonald’s and they forgot your fries, were you the one who got irate and demanded that they owed you something for this simple mistake, other than the fries you paid for? How bout the time you were at Wal-Mart and the clerk did not charge you for the 24-pack of pop you had on the bottom of the cart, did you go back in and pay for it or did you just think well I spend a lot money there then owed it to me? These are the times we think no one is watching and if we can get away with it, and then we just go on with life like it did not happen. Is this what we are teaching our children? That is ok as long as you get away with it. Are we saying you only have to be accountable for things that people can prove; you only have to be honest if you think you could get caught being dis-honest.
The fact remains that yes this is exactly what we are teaching our youth today, our nations sons and daughters are growing up believing exactly that, they are not privy to the information at a young age that all human beings are foul able even the adults, even their parents. People if you served in the United States Military you took an oath to up-hold the constitution to protect our nation against all enemies both foreign and domestic, you assumed the position of honor and agreed to act with integrity, honor and respect. If you are a parent, a man, or a woman then You should be leading the fight our nation has no greater enemy than our own arrogant discontent, our lack of morals and honor.
If you did not serve in our Great US Military, this does not exempt you for your duty as an American, a human being to do what is right and just. We need to teach our youth today there are consequences’ to every action both good and bad. It is easy to sit around grumbling about what this person did or what that person did, it is always someone else’s fault, well some times it is and it is your job to hold them accountable for their actions, but sometimes it is our own fault and it is your job and everyone else’s to hold you accountable.
We can fix any problem no matter how big or how small, we can go back to the glory years of old, by going back to the old traditions of Honor, Respect, Courage, Responsibility, and Accountability. This is how we build this great republic.
This by no means will be an easy task, we will all need to work at it we will not be perfect at it, but then again we never were.
Live your life without fear.
Ryan
